Arkansas consumers now have the opportunity to purchase generic brands of prescription drugs at a cost of just 4 dollars.
As of now, the program will be available in the 93 Wal-Mart and Sams Club pharmacies throughout the state, in addition to 13 other states across the country.
Wal-mart pharmacy manager, Tony Nation said, "we originally started the program down in florida as a test market. We started off with 196 drugs and risen it to 214 drugs and as they become available and as we progress, we will raise that total where we can."
At this time, the 4 dollar generic prescriptions are not available by mail order, but are available on-line or by telephone for refills only.
