September marked the tenth consecutive month that the number of homes sold declined both in Washington and Benton counties while the average home price increased. Realtors in Benton county sold three thousand seven hundred and twenty homes from January through September, that`s a little more than twelve and a half percent decline from the same months in 2005. The average house in Benton county sold for a little over one hundred and ninety two thousand which is an increase of more than seven percent from last year. In Washington county , realtors sold two-thousand two-hundred and 29 homes, which is a nine point forty six percent decrease from those same months in 2005. The average home in Washington county sold for one hundred and ninety thousand three hundred and seven dollars, which is a two-point seventy eight percent increase from last year.
