Mountain Home couple arrested

26-year old Robert Jarrett and his 26-year old wife, Antoinette were arrested after the Baxter County Department of Human Services reported signs of abuse to the sheriff`s department. The couple`s two-month-old boy was found with bruises and a 5-year-old girl had a mark on her head and bruises, according to Sheriff John Montgomery. A 4-year-old boy also lived in the household. Montgomery said the children`s mother and stepfather denied knowledge of the alleged abuse. Robert Jarrett is charged with battery and was held in the Baxter County jail with bail at $75,000. The children`s mother, Antoinette is charged with permitting abuse. The incident remains under investigation and possible additional charges are pending, Montgomery said. State Police, the Mountain Home Police Department and the Department of Health and Human Services also assisted.
