ESPN GameDay Coming to Fayetteville

By:
Updated: April 17, 2007
Millions of football fans tune in every Saturday morning to watch GameDay and hosts Chris Fowler...Kirk Herbstreit...Desmond Howard and Lee Corso-- who`s notorious for wearing the heads of school mascots during the broadcast...this weekend Arkansas fans are hoping he`ll wear a hog head. "I think anytime they come to your campus it means you`re the best show in town that weekend, we`re very excited about it," said Kevin Trainor, assistant athletic director of sports information. Trainor says ESPN showed interest in coming to Arkansas a few weeks ago, and officially committed Sunday morning. This is the first time for the show to stop in hog country. Thursday the GameDay crew will begin setting up in lot 44 just to the north of the stadium...and students are ready. "I can`t wait, it`s going to be awesome. I`m really excited about it!" said UA student Lucas Cooper. "Everyone`s been talking about it and it`s been a really big deal, we`re ready for it," McKenzi Ellis said. GameDay will broadcast from 9 to 11 A.M. Saturday and host some pre- and post-game half-time shows.
