Arkansas Fall Foliage Updates Now Available Online

By: KARK 4 News, Little Rock
Updated: October 4, 2012
Autumn is officially here which means the red, gold, bronze, orange and burgundy of fall foliage isn't too far away. One of the most eagerly-awaited travel times in The Natural State, this glorious season offers loads of special activities and gorgeous views statewide.

As is tradition, the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism (ADPT) is providing fall color updates to assist visitors in planning their trips. A team of spotters in various locations from one corner to the other supplies weekly reports on the progress of the color change.

These updates are posted online (click here) by 5 p.m. every Thursday afternoon during the season. They are also available by calling 1-800-NATURAL, which is answered live 24 hours a day, or (501) 682-7777 during regular business hours.

In addition to tracking the colors, you'll find suggested scenic highways and an estimation of when each region of the state will be at its peak. You'll also find a list of festivals and some seasonal vacation deals and coupons on the ADPT website  (click here).
