UA AD Jeff Long Statement on Matt Turner's Passing

By: Lisa Mendenhall
Updated: October 7, 2012
Matt Turner was committed to covering Razorback sports.

It was a dream come true for him.

He even sat down with University of Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long this summer for an exclusive interview for KNWA.

Long released this statement Sunday:

"I am shocked and deeply saddened by the news of Matt Turner's passing. He was one of the great guys in TV news.  Matt was a respected television journalist, passionate Razorback fan and most importantly a dedicated husband and father. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Turner family, his colleagues at THV and KNWA and his many friends throughout our state."
