They're going to paint the parking lot pink, and raise awareness about breast cancer, all with the swish of scissors. It's a night of pampering at Springdale's "About You" salon where all the proceeds go to Susan G. Komen Ozark affiliate.

"It's just a real passion just because you walk with your friends from start and then through remission and through the hope for others," said "About You" owner Katie Reynolds.

For Katie, this disease hits close to home.

"My friend and neighbor, Robin Parsons fought a hard fight and she was a trooper and gave so much hope to everyone," she said.

This event isn't just special to Katie, on top of being a friend, Robin was a mother to nine children. Jane Parsons lost her mom nine years ago.

"I was six years old when my mother died. My mom found out that she had breast cancer in 1997 and I was four-years-old. She fought that for five and a half years. She passed away in 2003. I'm just really grateful for the people that care so much about breast cancer and wanting to cure it and the affect it has on peoples lives because it doesn't just affect people who die or who battle it. It affects their entire family," said Jane.

"It really touches my heart that all these wonderful people take time out of their day and their week and their month to plan an event like this," said Jane.

An event that Katie believes will move the fight forward to end the devastating disease.

"I just hope that we can find a cure so that other women, children don't have to go through this anymore."
