Jerry Sandusky Sentenced
After a lengthy trial, Jerry Sandusky has been sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison. Sandusky spoke for thirteen minutes, reading from a statement he finished writing late last night, saying he did not commit the crimes.  The judge told Sandusky that his crimes are not just what he did to the victim's bodies, but to their souls. Van Der Sloot Expecting?
Locked up on a 28-year sentence, 28-year-old Joran Van der Sloot is telling a Dutch newspaper that he's going to be a father.  Suspected in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba, Van Der Sloot was later convicted of killing a 21-year-old in Peru in 2010. His attorney says the prison has the alleged mother registered as Van Der Sloot's girlfriend and the two have conjugal visits, though he would not confirm the pregnancy.

The Race for the White House
President Obama and Mitt Romney are on opposite sides of the country offering up competing visions on foreign policy. Mitt Romney attacked the president's leadership during a speech at the Virginia Military Academy, saying the president's hope for the middle east is not a policy. While raising money in California Sunday, President Obama moved foreign policy to the top of his remarks, saying he made good on his promises to end the wars in Iraq and is doing the same in Afghanistan. Two weeks from Tuesday, the two candidates debate foreign policy. And on Thursday,  the vice presidential candidates have their one and only showdown.
