Matt Turner, former KNWA evening news anchor, died over the weekend in a car accident.

People from across the state have reached out to the Turner family to wish them well.

Matt's Mother, Lisa Turner, expressed her appreciation on camera for the support she and her family have received.

"I don't know if it's actually hit all of us yet. We're having good times and bad times. I lost my husband, so I know sometimes it doesn't hit you until a month or two later when you realize that they're really not coming back, and Matt was a very special part of our family. He called me every single night and always wanted to take care of me. It's going to be really tough and Julee's so sad about having to raise Preslee all by herself. So in two months, she'll turn a year old and we're already sad that Matt won't be there to see that. I just want to thank everyone so much for their love and support. I wish Matt was here to see it because he would have been so thrilled and it's helped our family so much. It's going to help Preslee over the years so she'll be able to see what her daddy did and what he accomplished."
