Tyson Recalls Over 67,000 Pounds of Mislabeled Chicken Wings

By: KNWA News
Updated: October 10, 2012
Tyson Foods, Inc. announced Wednesday a voluntary recall of 67,269 pounds of packaged Chicken Wings.

The packages are labeled "Tyson Any'tizers Honey BBQ Boneless Chicken WYNGZ." They're packed in 25.5 ounce bags.

Approximately 42,200 bags produced back in August were mislabeled and actually contained the Buffalo Style Boneless "WYNGZ" which contain potential allergens like egg, milk and soy.

Tyson officials say the product was sold to retail stores nationwide, but there have been no illnesses associated with the mislabeling and no reports of allergic reactions associated with the consumption of the product. Anyone who may be concerned about an allergic reaction should contact a physician.

The mislabeled product can be identified by a date code of "2202PBF0208" through "2202PBF0223" with a "best by" date of August 7, 2013, and "2212PBF0200" through "2212PBF0223" with a "best by" date of August 8, 2013 printed on the back panel of the package. The establishment number "P13456" will also be printed on the back panel. A picture of the affected packaging is included above.
