"As our high schools get closer to capacity, we're hoping to offer another type of program so students have a choice," says Ashley Siwiec of the Rogers School District.

Rogers is looking to re-vamp their school district.

"The new tech model is really exciting quite honestly," says Rogers High School assistant principal Lance Arbuckle.

The district, proposing a high-tech program that would be available for all high school students.

"What students will be learning will be very project-based,they'll be given real-world scenarios," Siwiec says.

Officials introduced the idea Thursday at a public hearing ,citing 21st century learning as a critical component to this non-traditional type of teaching.

"This is a whole different take on how a high school is organized," Siwiec says. "This program will be at our annex building on First Street."

Five years ago, that building was home to Kirksey Middle School, currently it serves as a multi-purpose facility, however if everything goes as planned, next Fall, it'll be opening it's doors to new technology, giving students an innovative option that's only availble in 18 states across the country.

"Kids like anybody else like to have a choice, and this will be one more opportunity that kids will have to choose," Arbuckle says.

And Thursday's presentation even received an "A+" with parents.

"I was ready to learn more about it," Rogers parent Brig Caldwell says. "I think in education, we always need to adapt and be modern with what's happening."

Arbuckle adds, "I think it's going to be a real exciting time in the Rogers School District."
