FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Arkansas women's basketball team took part in Primetime at the Palace officially tipping off the 2012-13 season.

The event opened at 8 p.m. with an autograph session on the concourse followed by player and coaches introductions on the floor.

Introductions were followed by a short scrimmage for Tom Collen's team.  Collen, in his fifth season with the Razorbacks, is coming off one of the best seasons in recent history after leading the senior-laden Arkansas team to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last year.

Returning for Collen and the Razorbacks are a pair of All-Southeastern Conference selections in senior Sarah Watkins and sophomore Calli Berna.

"They got out and played hard," Collen said.  "We set a good tempo and that's something we've been working on in practice.  I was pretty pleased with that."

The 12 minute spirited scrimmage gave Arkansas fans a look at the newcomers who stepped up with the scoring.  Freshman Dominique Wilson dropped in 10 points for the white team while Berna also had 10 on Friday night.

"Dominique is pretty confident," said Collen.  She made that first shot and it just kept flowing for her.  She has a chance to fill a big scoring void for us this year."

Senior Erin Gatling had seven points and senior Quistelle Williams paced both teams with three rebounds.

Arkansas hosts Rogers State Nov. 4, in an exhibition contest followed by the home opener Nov. 9, against Jackson State at 11 a.m.  The Jackson State game is elementary day.
