Run for the Border a 2007 cry for Texas smokers

By:
Updated: April 17, 2007
That`s the day a new $1 a pack cigarette tax increase begins in Texas, and border towns in Arkansas are likely to be the objects of a dash to their doors. Arkansas taxes are going up just 18-cents a pack, and the difference could offset the cost of gas and time for Texans. When two towns share a same first name, but not a state - as Texarkana - Texas retailers are getting ready to see a lot of customers and cars driving toward the border.
