Hooked on Fishing -- Not on Drugs

By:
Updated: April 17, 2007
More than 100 students from Springdale`s Central Junior High took advantage of incentives to stay off drugs and do well in school. Those students were able to skip school and enjoy a little striper fishing Tuesday. "Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs" incorporates drug education in schools along with the drug-free activity of fishing on Beaver Lake. The students look forward to it and, even at 13 and 14, say they know of classmates who use drugs, and could benefit from this program.
