More folks in Northwest Arkansas are heading to the polls early this year.

In Benton County, 2,800 people voted early Monday, much higher than four years ago.

More than 1,600 voters in Washington County cast an early ballot.

Madison County saw 115 early voters Monday.

These numbers follow the trend across the state, with more than 26,000 Arkansans heading to the polls before election day, breaking the previous early voting record set in 2008.
