"Bridge to Future" Now Open

By: Kyle Leyenberger
Updated: October 26, 2012
The "Bridge to the Future" is officially open, connecting southern Rogers all the way to Bella Vista with safe walkable trails.

Bikers rode from downtown Bentonville to the bridge for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the first federally-funded section of the Razorback Regional Greenway.

The trail system will eventually run all the way to Fayetteville, and the Rogers Mayor Greg Hines says each city is working on plans to add branches to downtown areas and shopping districts.

"(It will) encourage those who travel here to use this awesome trail system, in this spine, to go off into the cities and see what there is to explore," he says.

The greenway is expected to be complete by the end of 2013.
