Benton County Holds Mass Flu Clinic

By: Kyle Leyenberger
Updated: October 26, 2012
The Benton County Health Department dispensed hundreds of free flu shots Friday.

The county set up a mass flu clinic at the Rogers Activity Center, providing vaccinations to more than one thousand people at no charge.

Administrator Loy Bailey says the clinic helps people avoid the flu, while also allowing the department to practice a mass dispensing plan for emergencies.

"In certain events, we would initiate and call into play if we had to provide vaccinations for whatever reason to the public or provide oral medications to the public in a short amount of time," Bailey says.

If you missed today's clinic, the county will hold another one in Siloam Springs Friday, November 2nd.
