Five days a week the Genesis House in Siloam Springs helps those in need.

"The homeless population is much larger than we anticipated," said Gary Baird, Director of the day shelter.

It's a place where people in need can come to shower, get meals and wash clothes.

Baird, "Anything we can to extend hospitality and make life as comfortable as we can."

But because of the need and a growing number of homeless individuals, the shelter is moving to a new location.

"Most people aren't aware we have a problem because we don't see them," said Baird.

The new place will offer more space and even allow for a nurse's station. While the Genesis House does what it can to help the homeless they want others to be aware of the issue.

Baird, "Ultimately we need to build a place to better serve the homeless. W
hat I want people to do is see the invisible people that we have in northwest arkansas who are homeless."
