New Lanes on Crossover Road Set to Open

By: KNWA News
Updated: October 30, 2012
Traffic on Highway 265 in Fayetteville will move to new lanes Wednesday.

According to the State Highway and Transportation Department, at 9 a.m. Wednesday, crews will begin relocating traffic control devices to direct drivers from the existing lanes of Highway 265 (Crossover Road) to the new traffic lanes to the east of the existing lanes.

The movement of traffic will allow the remaining construction to continue.

The work is part of a project to widen more than two miles of Highway 265  from three lanes to a four lane divided roadway with a raised median.

The project is expected to be complete in 2014.

Drivers are urged to use care and think ahead when traveling through the work zone.
