Springdale Graffiti

By:
Updated: April 17, 2007
Ray Dotson owns a glass and mirror business and is a member of the Springdale City Council. He says whomever vandalized his property chose him specifically because of some of the positions he`s taken concerning illegal immigration. Dotson says police called him early Sunday morning to alert him that his business had been hit with graffiti. When he drove over to check it out, he also found that the mural he`s spent thousands of dollars on was hit as well....and he doesn`t believe it was just a coincidence. "Oh I think I definitely was targeted, that`s okay, I`m a big boy and I can take it, we`ll bounce back. They`re not going to run me off, I`ve been here for 27 years and I don`t plan on going anywhere," he said. Although cleaning it up can be a chore, Dotson says the vandalism is an indicator of a bigger problem. "You know these folks came in, these gangs, they came in and they just disrespect the history of our town...the citizens of Springdale just basically need to start watching, and lets put a stop to this." Police are still investigating the vandalism.
