Bentonville Police Increase Patrols for Halloween

By: Kyle Leyenberger
Updated: October 31, 2012
Bentonville police beefing up patrols Wednesday to keep trick-or-treaters safe on the streets.

The Chief and other operations staff are working the late shift so they can establish a presence in neighborhoods filled with costumed candy seekers, allowing the regular duty officers to focus on normal tasks.

Chief Jon Simpson says the main concern is the extra foot traffic, but he also hopes to discourage would-be vandals.
