Hundreds of volunteers in Bella Vista built a playground for the Boys and Girls Club of Benton County in just one day on Thursday.

The building blitz included more than 200 people from the Bella Vista community, Disney and Kaboom!, an organization dedicated to creating a playground within walking distance of every kid in America.

The build is part of the Disney Magic of Healthy Living initiative, which partners with parents to inspire children to lead healthier lifestyles.

Sabrina Rampy, the director of communications for the Boys and Girls Club of Benton County, says the turnout is inspiring itself.

"For people to really take a whole day off of work and come and volunteer thier time for the kids to make it happen is just incredible," she says. "Not only are they building the playground, they're doing a lot of side projects as well. Benches for the kids to sit on, a community garden, and so in the Spring we'll actually plant vegetables, kind of teaching the kids about how a garden works."

The playground's design is based on drawings by the children who use the club. Although the construction only takes one day the kids will have to wait for the concrete to set before they can play.
