Its easy to find highlights from Friday night as the Razorbacks played red hot against an overmatched southwest baptist team but no matter the opponent the numbers were impressive as the starters opened up a big lead early.
(Mike Anderson) - "I thought the first group did a good job of setting the tone."
The Razorbacks shot over 50-percent from the floor and better than 40 percent from downtown. The return of forward Marshawn Powell seemed to help fellow big man hunter mickelson as the two combined for 27 points.
(Mike Anderson) - " It was nice to see #33 out there againg doing the things we are going to need him to do."
BJ Young lead all sec freshman in scoring last year. Did not start the game as coach had him guide the second wave, the new hogs like Anthlon Bell who finished with a team high 17 points and Micheal Qualls who electrified the bud with three huge dunks as part of a 10 point and 5 rebound game.
(Qualls) - "of course I am going to play quality minutes. If any of us get on the court we are expected to do something"
The team looked very active defensively with 24 deflected passes and the hogs were money on the line hitting 24 of 26 free throws. You cant tell too much from exhibtion play but arkansas seems to be pointed in the right direction.
(Mike Anderson) - "You can see some of the peices now we just have to keep working to put it together"
