Update: One in Custody, Two Kids Safe After Standoff

A Lowell man is behind bars after a standoff with police Monday night.
Investigators say Jason Kimbro, 24, held a woman hostage inside the garage of a home on Opal Avenue.
She was able to escape under the garage door and told police Kimbro had hit her several times, and that there were two children still in the house, ages three and one.
Officers say Kimbro refused to come out and told them he'd tied the children to chairs and that if police came in, things would end badly.
After hostage negotiations failed, the Lowell Special Response Team was able to force its way inside and arrest Kimbro.
The children were uninjured.
Kimbro faces multiple felony charges.
