Washington County election officials offered up their ballot counting machines for Benton County to use, after Benton County's machines broke.

But even after Benton County borrowed the machines, election commissioners discovered about ten percent of the ballots were being rejected!!

So after all of that, they had to count hundreds of ballots by hand.

They expect to have everything counted by noon Friday.

After gaining a majority in the state senate, GOP lawmakers name a new committee chairman.

They picked Michael Lamoureux as president "pro tem."

State Senator Jeremy Hutchinson, (R)-Little Rock, was chosen to head the judiciary committee.

They also picked all ten committee chairmen.

Republicans won 21 of the 35 senate seats in Tuesday's election.

It's the first time since Civil War reconstruction that the GOP has held a majority in the senate.

Fifteen of Northwest Arkansas' newest tech startups competed for a chance to move their companies forward.

The teams spent the last 14 weeks in an entrepreneurial boot camp for the ARK Challenge, creating products ranging from online learning tools to an app to help you find your favorite food truck.

Thursday they gave a final pitch to investors, for a chance at $150,000.

Many of the businesses started from scratch, but the program provides valuable help from mentors to help develop ideas in a short time frame.

A new exhibition at the Bentonville Public Library focuses on one of our area's very first businessmen, Peter Van Winkle.

His life and legacy now on display in the Walmart Community Room.

In the 1870's Van Winkle built a state of the art lumber mill in the area that is now Hobbs State Park, that allowed residents to buy everything they needed to build a home.

On Sunday Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art will celebrate it's first anniversary.

The documentary "The Art of Crystal Bridges" will be shown Friday night at the museum.

The film tells the story behind the museum's founding and development and has interviews with the museum's founder, Alice Walton.

The film is free and starts at 6:30 p.m. but reservations are required.

Tickets for an Arkansas tradition go on sale Friday.

The Wakarusa Music Festival is set for Thursday, May 30th through Sunday, June 2nd and will once again take place at Mulberry Mountain near Ozark.

Fans of the fest can start buying tickets at 10 a.m.

If you're planning a big Thanksgiving feast this year, we have good news.

The traditional turkey dinner won't cost much more than it did last year.

The Arkansas Farm Bureau surveyed food prices around the state and found for a family of ten, Thanksgiving will cost $45.12 cents, which is up by just one cent from last year.

This, after food prices jumped in 2011.

Luckily, prices in Arkansas have remained low and stable this past year, allowing us to enjoy our big meal for less than $5 a person.
