Oakdale Middle School is the home of the Patriots, and today the student's came together, to honor the men and women of the military.
The school band played a song for each branch of the military and several veterans spoke to the children about the sacrifices made to protect our country.
"We think of our fellow shipmates and others that gave their lives," says Navy vet Jack Massimino. "I try to attend all these for myself and for them also."
Corporal Gary Bradberry served in the US Marine Corps from 1963 to 1967. He hope the kids come away knowing how important it is to show respect for those sacrifices.
"All the freedoms they've got today are given to them by a veteran over the last 200 years," he says.
If you missed Friday's event, Rogers schools have two more planned for Monday.
