One non -profit, gathering together this weekend to equip new officers for the job.
The Salvation Army, holding an officer training and youth rally.

It's a time for kids to be encouraged by adult officers and for older volunteers to learn about the dangers of human trafficking.

The group has been a big part of combating the epidemic for decades.

Commissioner David Jeffrey says events like these help make sure the Salvation Army will continue to help those in need.
"Each generation of the Salvation Army has to win the next generation if we're going to continue as an organization and youth work is so vitally important to us," says David Jeffrey, Commissioner of the Salvation Army.
