Some local ladies are making sure our newly-elected leaders are getting to know the people they represent.

The League of Women Voters of Washington County held a legislative luncheon in Fayetteville Monday!

It's a way for the people in the county and in Northwest Arkansas to get some face time with our state lawmakers.

"People are seeking representation," said League President Mary Alice Serafini. "Our legislators are here now and the represent us so we want to keep a conversation going throughout the legislative session to make sure we all understand what's happening."

The lawmakers did a little Q&A with the constituents before grabbing lunch.

The state representatives and senators talked about the election results' effect on their work and the issues ahead in the 2013 legislative session.
