Veterans Week at the University of Arkansas wrapped up Monday with a rededication at the schools new Memorial Flagpole.

The ceremony was held in honor of service personnel and victims of the September 11th attacks. The flagpole features plaques honoring five UA alumni who have received the Congressional Medal of Honor. Speakers shared each man's story at the re-dedication.

UA senior Matthew Seubert led the effort to pay for and build the memorial, and says it offers a place to recognize the sacrifices veterans make for their country.

"It is about those people that have served," he says. "(It's) about welcoming those individuals home from service, welcoming them into the university as many of them use their veteran benefits to take classes to go on with their lives."
