Rogers High School students visited Monte Ne Wednesday, to learn about the entertainment Northwest Arkansas has to offer.

The students are in a sports and entertainment marketing class, and teacher Haley Cox says most of the coursework focuses on sports, but outdoor recreation is also an important draw for the area.

The water is low enough to expose the old amphitheater, and kids were encouraged to think about how to promote the historic hotel.

"I hope that some of them maybe have found a direction, maybe from talking to the park ranger and hearing about what they get to do," Cox says.

The visit was the first for many of the students, and Cox says the three story structure, and the rooms underneath were the kids' favorite part.
