A man is charged in connection with a possible plot for a movie theater shooting in Missouri.

Bolivar police say Blaec Lammers, 20, is charged with 1st degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action and Making a Terroristic Threat. The charges stem from a tip Lammers' mother gave police on Thursday.

According to court documents, she contacted police, concerned that her son had just bought two assault rifles and wasn't taking his medication. She said the guns he bought were similar to the ones used in the shooting at an Aurora, Colorado movie theater this summer. She told police she was afraid he might take those guns to a showing of the new Twilight movie in Bolivar, and shoot people at random.

The probable cause statement from police says detectives brought Lammers in for questioning, and he allegedly admitted buying one of the guns Monday of this week, and the second on Tuesday, with the intention of shooting up a movie theater or the Walmart store.

According to the court documents, Lammers (right) told detectives he had already bought tickets for Sunday for the movie, but thought he might run out of ammunition and decided to target the Walmart store instead.

The probable cause statement, signed by Detective Dustin Ross, says; "Blaec Lammers stated that he would walk into the store and just start shooting people at random and if he ran out of ammunition (he said he purchased 400 rounds) he would just break the glass where the ammunition is being store and get some more than keep on shooting until the police arrived."

Lammers allegedly told Ross he "had a lot in common with the people that have been involved in...(recent)...shootings" in the news. He told Ross that "he was quiet, kind of a loner, had recently purchased firearms, and didn't tell anybody about it, and had homicidal thoughts."

A judge has ordered Lammers held on $500,000 bond in the Polk County Jail. His first court appearance has not been held.
