Volunteers are working long hours to assemble hundreds of bikes for the Bentonville School District.
Parents, the Bella Vista Bike Club and mechanics from Phat Tire Bike shop are building 540 bicycles for a new PE program.
"When I walked in and saw them after the truck delivered them I was like, 'Wow! What did I get myself into?'" says Mary Ley, communications director for the district.
She says the team has put in eight ten hour days already, and probably has four more to go, but the end result will be well worth it.
Each school in Bentonville will get a set of thirty bikes, and Ley hopes the program will build a lifetime of fitness for each kid in the district.

"Bentonville is an art and biking culture now, and now the schools are part of that culture, and I think when we have a common culture that's when we have the american dream of the kind of community we want," she says.
The bikes need to be complete by December 3rd, when the district plans to hold a kickoff celebration at the high school.
