First Baptist Church of Rogers is hoping to send nearly 2,500 Thanksgiving meals to needy families across Northwest Arkansas.

It's a program that the church started in 2000 -- delivering 300 meals that year. Now, the church is encouraging any families that need a little help this Thanksgiving, to give them a call and request a meal.

"As a service project to the community, sends out meals and we prepare meals at our 8th and Olive campus, and then we send it and deliver it to the homes," says Associate Pastor Mark Maier. "It's just a way we can give back to the community."

Families in need can contact the church during regular business hours at 636-3451.

The meals will be delivered Thanksgiving morning by church and community members.
