Man Arrested, Accused of Kicking ASP Officer in Groin

A Springdale man is behind bars, accused of assaulting a police officer and causing a four-car pile-up.

Officers say Dennis Bree, 37, was attempting to choke a woman in his truck and was driving recklessly near West End and Sunset.

That's when they tell us an off-duty Arkansas State Police trooper tried to arrest him, but according to cops, Bree kicked the trooper in the groin and took off.

Police say Bree sped right through a red light on Sunset, causing a four-car accident.

Officers managed to arrest him afterward.

They say he and the woman were both highly intoxicated.

She was charged with public intoxication and endangering the welfare of a minor because there was also a two-year-old child in the truck.

Bree now faces a slew of charges, including domestic battery, DWI, assault on an officer and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Both the woman and the child were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Two people in other cars were also treated for minor injuries.
