We captured a special moment earlier this afternoon as a statue honoring Former University Of Arkansas Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Frank Broyles was officially dedicated. The Arkansas legend on hand for the ceremony. While serving as head coach Broyles led Arkansas to a 1964 National Championship and seven SWC titles. As AD he oversaw many of the changes on campus including the construction Of Bud Walton Arena and Baum Stadium. The proud Razorback spoke with us about his more than fifty years of service to the program and the excitment of this moment on campus. Broyles told the Razorback Nations Mike Irwin, "I'm flabergasted by it and i'm proud of it appreciate the great fan support. I had a chance to come be a Razorback 54 years ago and I've enjoyed every minute of it. how many coaches, athletic figures get to stay in their place 54 years not many but I've had a charmed life thanks to all the people here." Broyles retired as AD in 2007, but continues to work With The Razorback Foundation Board and has remained a loyal hog fan. The statue is located in front of The Broyles Athletic Center on the University of Arkansas campus.
