One organization is doing its part to support the spaying and neutering of local animals.

Spay Arkansas is hosted its fifth annual holiday silent auction Sunday afternoon, benefiting the Northwest Arkansas Spay and Neuter Clinic.
The event was held at Arsaga's on Crossover Road and featured live music, refreshments and unique auction items up for grabs.
Organizers say fundraisers like these are extremely important to the clinic.
"Typically our surgeries cost ten dollars more than what the client pays. So on an average, we do 5,000 surgeries a year. That means over a course of a year, we have to raise fifty thousand dollars in order to keep our clinic open," Romine Kobilsek, NWA Spay and Neuter Clinic.
The Spay and Neuter Clinic has been open since March 2011 and all proceeds from the event will go directly to its operating costs.
