Springdale A Finalist in Race to The Top Money

The Springdale School District is in the hunt for portion of $400 million dollars in the "Race To the Top" competition.

The US Department of Education made the announcement saying the District is among 61 finalists selected from nearly 400 applications.

Money awarded will be used to support locally developed plans to improve learning.

The Department expects to choose 15 to 25 winners and they will receive between $5 million to $40 million dollars.

Winners and awards will be announced no later than the end of December.
