Zachary Holly was officially charged with rape, capital murder, kidnapping and residential burglary during a bond hearing in Benton County Wednesday.

He was denied bond and will remain in jail.

Holly is accused of killing six-year old Jersey Bridgeman after her body was found November 20th in a house just two doors down from her home.

The hearing began at 1:50p.m.  About 50 people were in attendance, including police chief Jon Simpson and Jersey's mother DesarRae, along with the grandmother, step-grandfather and friends. She handed out purple bracelets to those sitting with her at the hearing.

The rape charge was was added during the hearing in addition to the charges Holly was arrested for on Monday.  His arraignment was set for January 7th at 8:00a.m.  During the hearing it was decided that portions of the probable cause affidavit would not be released to the public.

Holly was not required to speak.  He remained silent and appeared emotionless even he approached the bench with his lawyers, including public defender Jay Saxton. Holly was told by Judge Robin Green not to have any contact with Jersey's family, he responded with "yes, ma'am," the only words he spoke during the hearing.

A woman who says she has been friends with Holly was at the courthouse and told us he "has learning disabilities" and that a couple of days after Jersey was found he had remarked "I hope I don't get the death penalty."

Team coverage on this story from Cassidy Hodges and Tyler Thomason continues tonight on KNWA and Fox News Edge.
