"Hi, I'm Corporal Arnold, are you ready to go shopping," says Corporal Amanda Arnold of the Washington County Sheriff's Office inside Walmart Friday afternoon.

For 7-year-old Aroura Oldham, Christmas is coming a little earlier this year.

As members of the Washington County Sheriff's Office get to play Santa.

It's unexplainable, just to see the joy on their face, and to get them what they're wanting because they don't always get options to get to do that," Arnold says.

It's all part of the "Shop with a Cop" program, helping kids in need with extra clothes and toys this Christmas.

Thanks to fundraisers, donations and help from the Fraternal Order of Police, more than 100 local children will join cops behind shopping carts this year in Washington County.

"Christmas is always hard for a lot of families, so just to get that little dab of help, helps a lot," Arnold adds.

"Just to see the excitement on their faces, it's worth the whole thing."

Smiles, hugs and a little help to start the holiday season.
