FAYETTEVILLE-- Following a three hour meeting of the Razorback Foundation Board sources on Saturday told the Razorback Nation that University of Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long is close to naming a new head football coach for the school but some work still needs to be done.

No timetable was given for the hire but sources say they expect it to be a matter of a few days at the most.

Sources said Long was not at the meeting. They also would not reveal the name of the targeted coach.

It is not known if a contract for a specific coach was approved but one source said plenty of money is available to make a top dollar offer.

Sources have also told the Razorback Nation that if Long's targeted choice falls through Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini is high on the list having received a strong recommendation from LSU coach Les Miles.

Keep in touch with the Razorback Nation for continuing developments on this story.
