One man who ran for a spot on Rogers city council has donated his leftover campaign money to charity.

Carlos Chicas made a bid for a seat in the November elections, losing in a run-off to incumbent Bob Goodwin.  Chicas divided up the remaining funds to two local associations,  the American Legion Post 100 in Rogers and NWA Court Appointed Children's Advocate (CASA).

Both organizations received the money during a check presentation Saturday.  In a statement, Chicas said it is "a great way to end a hard fought campaign is by giving back to the city that he loves."
