Bentonville Kids Shop With Cops

By: Kyle Leyenberger
Updated: December 3, 2012
Bentonville police granted some Christmas wishes Monday for children in need.

The Bentonville Fraternal Order of Police escorted twenty nine kids to Walmart, where they had up to $300 to spend.

The Lt. Michael Martin, president of the Bentonville FOP says the program is a great way to show the kids that cops are people too, but its heartwarming to see them pick out presents they couldn't afford otherwise.

"The first people they want to buy gifts for is not for themselves,it's for their family," he says. "They'll take care of those first before they start shopping for themselves."
