National Cookie Day

By: Amanda Ashley
Updated: December 4, 2012
As good a reason as any to munch a cookie today. Tuesday is national cookie day!

According to online magazine The Nibble, cookies actually started out as cake taste tests.

Bakers used to test oven temperatures on small amounts of batter so they wouldn't waste the entire cake mix.  They discovered that the tiny pieces of batter were delicious.

So, in celebration, bake some of your favorite cookies!
