If you drive on College Avenue for in Fayetteville, you'll notice a growth of greenery. It's the Wisconsin tree farm. This group of busy bees has been coming to Northwest Arkansas for over two decades. If you do choose real over fake, there are some things you need to know.

"My boss, he's been coming here for 26 years now.Weather is nice, people are even nicer," said Justin Woller who works at the tree farm.

Our weather in Northwest Arkansas may not feel exactly like Christmas, but families are sweeping up these seasonal shrubs. So, whatever you choose, Justin has some tips for you.

"Don't put it in front of a heater vent. Obviously, not next to a fireplace or don't hang candles on it. That's a definite no no. Keep it watered, you don't really need all that sugar and aspirin,  coffee, soda. We don't put any of that out in our trees in the fields. we just water them."

Trees and holiday decorations are involved in thousands of fires each year. To keep that from happening to you, keep the tree stand filled with water. That prevents drying out the branches.

"Keep it away from a heat source, make sure it does not run out of water. If it does, the tree dries out and becomes a big fire hazard," said Woller.

Another tip? Turn off the lights on the tree before you go to bed.  Just a few tips from the growers themselves, to keep your tree merry and bright this year.
