When driving by First Assembly of God Church in Springdale, you may notice something a little odd. Tents. One man is trying to raise awareness and funds for local homeless by camping for a cause.

Everett Coonfield was homeless himself about 8 years ago, so his success has led him to give back.
Now he's camping out in front of the church in Springdale to help raise money for his nonprofit Northwest Arkansas Hope Center.
The money raised will go toward presents for the needy in the area.

"We will disperse up to 300 hundred sometimes 500 gifts to different families and or individuals. Some of them will be homeless, some of them will be low income, some of them will be beyond the poverty level that we might not even know," Coonfield said.

So far, 1,200 dollars have been raised for the Hope Center and the goal is 10,000.

Coonfield  will be collecting donations out here until 2 on Saturday.
