Some local students took the rock and roll stage Saturday, to help out some other aspiring musicians.

It was all part of the School of Rock Charity Showcase, benefitting the non-profit School of Rock Scholarship Fund. The free show featured student rockers ages 7 to 18.

Several folks showed support and packed into J.R.'s Lightbulb Club on Block Avenue in Fayetteville.

"This is a charity show. It's going to a good cause, especially around the holidays and we just like to get out in the community and let everyone see how awesome these kids are," said Jennie Register with School of Rock.

The money raised will help families who might not be able to afford the School of Rock program.
