Walmart is making a play for Hostess - but they're not the only one.

According to Bloomberg Report, the Bentonville-based retailer and grocery giant Kroger Co. are among the bidders for assets being sold by Hostess Brands, the bankrupt maker of Wonder bread and Twinkies, said a person familiar with the matter.

In fact there are about two dozen bidders says an unnamed source.

A few of the bids are for all the assets, some are for just the cakes or breads businesses, and others are interested in individual Hostess plants, said the person.

We reached out to Walmart for comment but the bidding process is confidential.
