"You can do the same type steps to fix your finances that you can with going to the gym or starting to eat right," CEO for Integrity Capital Wealth Management, Brandon Simmons said.

Trim your budget like you would your waist line.

"The recommendations are easy, it's implementing them that's difficult."

Simmons said you don't have to take on a second job to pay off your debt either.

"Lets say, you have a car and you have a huge car payment, you might be able to sell that car and turn around and pay down some of the credit card debt."

Getting on track is as easy as using a two letter word.

"It always starts with saying 'no.' If you have to put it on your credit card, you probably should just say no and wait until you can afford to do it."

Much like a gym, there are financial trainers to help tone your bottom line.

"Just like the guy at the gym will make sure you're showing up and you're tracking your progress and doing your different workouts, they'll do the same with your money, your budget and your finances," Simmons said.

Still looking  for something more radical?

"What I call plastic surgery. I didn't invent the term but it's just cut up your credit cards, because if you don't have that credit card, you can't go add stuff to it."
