Monte Ne Report Missing Details

By: Kyle Leyenberger
Updated: December 27, 2012
The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking more information on the cost to preserve the historic hotel at Monte Ne.

Sean Harper, of the Corps says a report on the historical significance of the site is lacking details on several important parts of a possible renovation.

Local historians want to raise money to turn the area into a park, but Harper says they can't start until they know how much it will cost.

The Corps plans to work with the Little Rock district archaeologist to estimate the cost of removing graffiti from the concrete structure, as well as the cost to shore up the base of the site to stop erosion.
