Overweight=Longer Life?

A new study says being slightly overweight may actually help you live longer. Researchers compared the body mass index of about 3 million adults around the world. They found those with a little added weight had a 6% lower risk of dying compared to people at a "normal" weight. But don't throw those new year's resolutions out just yet. Obese people had more than triple the risk of dying, according to the study.

Newtown Lawsuit Dropped
 
A Connecticut attorney is in some hot water after requesting to file a lawsuit against the state on behalf of the family of a Sandy Hook Elementary School survivor. A wrongful death attorney asked the claims commissoner permission to sue the state to the tune of 100 million dollars last week.The attorney says his goal is to make schools safer for kids, but he's received heavy backlash, even death threats from people. Connecticut's attorney general says there's no facts showing the state should be liable for what happened in Newtown. The lawsuit will reportedly be withdrawn for now.

NCAA Lawsuit

Pennsylvania's governor will file a federal lawsuit against the organization that governs college athletics later Wednesday. Governor Tom Corbett intends to sue the NCAA  over sanctions imposed against Penn State following the Jerry Sandusky scandal. A news conference was scheduled Wednesday morning to announce the filing in U.S. district court. In July, the university agreed to a 60 million dollar fine to be used to finance child abuse prevention grants across the country. But state and federal lawmakers have raised objections to the money being spent outside of Pennsylvania.

Curry to CNN?
Former "Today Show" anchor Ann Curry could be changing networks. She reportedly wants to move from NBC to CNN. But first, NBC has to release her from her contract. Former NBC chief Jeff Zucker was recently named the head of CNN and has reportedly been courting Curry to host a prime-time show on the news channel.  Curry was pushed out of the "Today Show" in June.

Photographer Dies While Snapping Pics of Bieber's Car
A photographer was killed in California while trying to snap pictures of Justin Bieber's Ferrari. Los Angeles police say the paparazzi photographer was hit by another car after taking photos of a white Ferrari, believed to be owned by Bieber. Highway patrol says the Ferrari was stopped by police in the same area earlier that day. Bieber was not in the car during that traffic stop.
